Japan Head Office (‘Head Office’) is to accelerate its expansion in western Japan by acquiring part of the operations of Osaka-based Chicago Pizza. Chicago Pizza recently ceased operations and part of its operations will be taken over by the Head Office. The company plans to maintain the Chicago Pizza brand while increasing the number of shops with its own brand, mainly in western Japan.

Head Office currently operates 141 shops, mainly in eastern Japan, to which 19 shops from Chicago Pizza will be added. In addition, the company will continue to expand its shop network, mainly through franchise (franchisee) shops, aiming to have 200 shops by 2025 and 300 shops by 2030.

In each of the own-brand and Chicago Pizza shops, product development will be carried out to utilise the characteristics of each brand, so that customers can enjoy the thicker pizzas of Chicago Pizza and the thinner pizzas of the own-brand together. Under the new management structure, both brands aim to attract a wider customer base.

The head office is also working to strengthen its production system, and has revamped its Sendai plant facilities to triple production efficiency. This will enable the production of up to 30,000 pizza dough sheets per day, and the dough produced at the Sendai plant will also be supplied to shops in western Japan.

Through the acquisition of the Chicago Pizza business, Head Office expects to strengthen its competitiveness in the growing pizza delivery market and generate stable revenues from its franchisees.
